C-channel beams are bolted back-to-back to create a rafter
Purlins, which are Z-shaped beams, bolt to rafters to join them together.
A standing seam roof consists of architectural roof panels made of 24-guage steel that are completely mechanically sealed with no screws on the roof which prevents leaks. The panels are 18″ wide and have a male and female side with a hook on the female side.
The male side of the panel is inserted under the lip of the clip.
After the clip is placed over the male lip of the panel, place female hook over the adjoining panel.
Place the hand seaming tool at the clip flush with the seam. Rotate handle downward to crimp the seam at the clip locations.
The mechanical seaming tool is then used to seam the remaining portions of the panel.
This is a common TripleLok seam and how it will look when completed.
The QuadLok Seam is required in areas with winds at 100mph or over.
